Join us as we welcome JTS Student Rabbi Shira Bodnar, who will lead us in Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday night and, on Shabbat morning, offer the d’var Torah and lead us in Mussaf.

Originally from Toronto, Shira Bodnar is a cantorial and rabbinical student at JTS. Shira previously received an Honors Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance from Sheridan College, and worked for a year as an outdoor educator at Shoresh, a Jewish environmental organization.

As a descendent of Holocaust survivors, Shira is passionate about how music can be a tool for reclaiming one’s Judaism after generations of displacement.
